OVER AND OVER…

One of the most harrowing things I find about painting is the idea of painting something, being satisfied with it…sort of…and wrestling with the the thought painting over it. Will I ruin it? Should I just stop while I am a little bit ahead? Am I seeking the perfect and discarding the good enough? The more I do it, the more I find that tinkering with a painting is nothing to be feared. I usually end up with a different but better piece in the end. And yet, each painting is a rerun of the process…
